Adam Martyniuk calls for raising the Level of Education in Ukraine
Adam Martyniuk, First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, visited Liubeshivskyi district of Volyn region on September 10-11.
A. Martyniuk participated in the events dedicated to the completion of school restoration and beginning of the academic year at the school in Selisok village, attended the opening ceremony of educational complex in Shchytyn village, greeted participants of regional sport Olympics, and inspected building of social-cultural objects in the district, as they have been under his patronage for a long time.
Meeting the teaching board and pupils´ parents in Selisok village, A. Martyniuk emphasized, "To be honest, it is your achievement that the school was opened, since your insistence made it possible. I am deeply satisfied with the results of our common work."
According to A. Martyniuk, he "was not quite sure that the builders would manage to complete the works before the beginning of the academic year. However, pupils were able to come here on September 1, which is great."
"Our children should learn and gain knowledge. Unfortunately there is an ambiguous attitude towards education in our state. On the one hand, the state tries to give equal opportunities for school-leavers to enter universities. It is a good situation, although a great number of school-leavers have no idea what they should do with this education and where they can find a job. It is a big problem", the First Deputy Chairman of the Ukrainian Parliament stated.
However, A. Martyniuk is convinced, "Another problem is quality of knowledge. We have thousands of universities with branches even in villages. However, we know quality of education there. If one wants a diploma, it is necessary to give a necessary sum." The politician hopes that the situation will change.
Visiting Shchytyn village, A. Martyniuk opened the educational complex. "The project has finally been completed. All of us have been looking forward to this day," he declared. The politician informed that construction has lasted for 22 years.
A. Martyniuk thanked for the great concert of amateurs organized at a new club.
